Carp Connection at Norfolk Angling Conservation
Association (NACA) Open Day 2008
"Bumpy" teaching a youngster how to cast!
Carp Connection were invited
to attend the annual Norfolk Angling Conservation
Association Open Day at Bawburgh Lakes, Norwich on
Sunday 1st June 2008.
Four members of the Carp Connection forum were
available on the day to give tips and hints on carp
angling techniques such as casting, rigs,
watercraft, spodding and distance baiting.
With other attractions such as Environment Agency
talks, Pike Angling, Feeder Fishing, distance
casting and a match angling display by Bob Nudd MBE,
there were anglers of all disciplines and abilities
attending throughout the day.
The Carp Connection team were busy throughout the
day with the spodding tuition and competition
proving to be especially popular with people of all
ages!
View a video of the Carp
Connection tutorials on the day.
For the spodding competition, a pair of marker
floats were popped up ten feet apart at 100 yards range and
anglers invited to hit between the markers, the
three skilful winners each winning Carp Connection
T-Shirts.
The younger anglers had a marker at a much more
realistic range to aim towards!
Sadly, no carp were obliging to enable us to hold
the fish-care demo, but we have plans afoot to be
able to do this next time whether the fish play ball
or not!
We'd like to thank all the Carp Connection
members who came along and supported us on the
day and would especially like to thank N.A.C.A and
Chris Oakley for inviting us to take part in the
day, and hope that this can be a regular date in the
diary.
